I am so thrilled to teach and learn with you during your first year at Village School! I too am relatively new to Village, so we will be on this exciting journey together. I came here four years ago from the Hamilton-Wenham School District, where I taught both fourth and fifth grade for fifteen years. Before that, I completed both Undergraduate and Graduate Degree programs at the University of New Hampshire. I am so happy to be here in Marblehead, and I feel incredibly fortunate to work in such a supportive community where education is highly valued and teachers and parents truly approach learning as a team effort.
Prior to moving to Massachusetts, I grew up in New Hampshire, where I spent my summers working as a swim instructor at local public pools as well as at a girls’ summer camp on Lake Ossipee. Teaching swimming to children eventually inspired me to pursue a career in education. As an English Teaching major, I set out to combine my love of reading and writing with my passion for teaching. My professional development has been focused on developing strategies for reading and writing workshop as well as collaborating with colleagues to develop creative ways of utilizing technology to support learning in the classroom. My family has deep roots in the town of Swampscott, where I live with my husband our two children, Madeline (age 9) and Connor (age 7). In addition to reading and writing, I enjoy biking, walking, and spending time at the beach. I also love to travel and hope to explore many different places in my future years.
